Esfenn 24nd Annual First Sword Tourney

Greetings unto the West. It’s that time of year again, when the crops are in the fields, the herds in their summer grazing and the long halls are filled with the laughter of children. The time has come to once again gather the hickory staves and the ground cloth and come together to select the next First Sword of Esfenn.
This year, as in the past, there will be melees, melees and more melees, interspersed with one-on-one combats to determine the First Sword.
The one-on-one combats will consist of a Holmgang round, a dane axe round, a single sword at the barrier round and sword and shield round, with a final round for the winners of the separate fighting styles for the First Sword. There will be individual prizes to the winner of each separate fighting style. Further, there will prize melees through out the day.
So come one, come all and ready your arms and your skills.
Site opens at 9 with armor inspection at 10:30 and fighting starting at 11. There will be games for the children, an A&S display, and a potluck style sideboard for all. Please bring a dish to share.
Site fee is free, with donations gladly accepted.
Los Cerritos Community Park in Fremont, at the corners of Alder Ave, and Nicolet Ave.
Take your best route to the Thornton Ave. exit on 880. Go NE on Thornton to Fremont Ave. Turn left on Fremont Ave. to Alder Ave, about 1 ½ blocks. Turn right on Alder and follow Alder up to Nicolet and the Park on the left.
